Vintage Carved Ivory Smooth Finish Round Box, 2 3/4” high X 3” diameter of lid

A vintage cream-colored, smooth-finish carved ivory round box from the pre-1950s period. Suitable as a cosmetic body powder container (needs a powder puff), a pen/pencil-holding desk accessory, a paperclip dispenser, etc. Schreger lines are clearly visible in many of the above photos. The finish and texture on this item, oh-so-smooth, is the delightful stereotype of cream-colored, smooth-finished ivory. There is an age related, drying-type of crack in the upper ring, just under the lid. It does not interfere with the smooth functioning of the round box and lid. Perfect for everyday use.
